Marina Telles

A Channel Islands local by way of Santa Clarita. Proud wife and mom. After almost 3 decades inland, I've found my happy place by the coast, where the music scene is as vibrant as the sunsets. Being part of this wonderful band lets me share my love of music while connecting with an amazing community I'm so grateful to call my home.

Harbor Groove is a rhythm-driven project led by conga player Steven Hamburger, whose musical journey began later in life—but took hold in a big way.

At age 59, Steven was first introduced to a local band and given the opportunity to sit in on congas. What started as a new experience quickly turned into a passion. Recently, he connected with a new group of musicians and now serves as their official conga player—still learning, still growing, and enjoying every moment of the ride.

Inspired by the Latin-infused sound of Carlos Santana, along with the timeless music of Eagles and The Beatles, Stephen brings a laid-back, percussive groove rooted in classic rock with a touch of Spanish flair.

Outside of music, he lives life with the same energy he brings to his playing—staying active through skiing, fishing, yoga, and caring for his 120-gallon saltwater aquarium.

Harbor Groove is all about rhythm, connection, and the joy of discovering something new—no matter when you start.

Steve Mikkelson plays drums and percussion. He was raised in

southern California and began playing drums in high school marching band, which is an excellent discipline for learning how to play music while walking in a straight line. He went on to study other styles of music that do not require one to walk at all. This led to a brief stint in a rock band that played a lot of music by famous groups that were named after animals. After a long, mind-numbing career with the telephone company, he searched high and low for another opportunity to lay down a groove with other fine folks with a deep love of music. So, when Harbor Groove came calling, he knew it was a match made in heaven. Steve can also be seen bashing away behind the Ventura classic rock band, “Mid Life Crisis” and the surf music band "The Sea Hunters". Cheers!
